Now that we’re on first name terms, let me tell you a little bit more about me and why I think you should entrust me with the privilege that is capturing your special day.

With me, your story telling will be full of colour and fun. I aim to make the most of the best moments and the best light. I listen to your requirements for shots and moments and make capturing them beautifully my mission. I also spend the time hunting for great light and those wonderful candid moments that make us fall for reportage style images. This means that I give people a wide range of different types of photograph all in my signature radiant style.
I am a photographer by trade rather than a hobbyist who has taken things further (not that there’s anything wrong with that!). I have undergone formal training and have a degree to show for it, as well as industry experience in and out of the wedding sector. To name a few, I have covered events for Dreamland Margate, Turner Contemporary Gallery and provided product photographs for Catchpole and Rye.
In truth I was a stranger to photography for a little while. A mix of the challenges of COVID-19 and the easy money I found I could earn in a sales job put my craft as my living on the back burner completely. And I decided to close my previous photography business, Arcadian Images.
But suddenly, on my wedding day no less, a feeling crashed over me and I couldn’t help but think, on this poignant and fateful day in my life,
I stood there in my dress watching my old university buddy, Lucy photograph our day, I was having the time of my life but remembering how much I enjoyed being in her position. I became acutely aware that I needed to take life in another direction and get myself back behind the camera!
So, the other Mrs G and I, decided to relocate from overcrowded, expensive Kent, back to my old stomping ground on the North Yorkshire coast. We simplified our finances and bought our freedom so that we can make our lives what we want them to be.
Oh and did we mention how BEAUTIFUL it is!
My photographic style is light and natural and my approach is flexible and non-judgmental. I’m so happy to work with you and your needs so if there’s something you have in mind just say! As someone who is recently married I bring a new perspective and sympathy to the table.
As photographers we very often get caught up in our own brand and this can leave the client feeling like their requests aren’t being heard. With me, the priority is what you want. I want to make sure you get everything you desired out of my service and that you feel confident and at ease, whoever you may be.
So how do I separate myself from the rest?
It’s not all about pretty pictures, they speak for themselves. I have learnt that to offer the best possible service to my clients I have to have an in-depth knowledge of the couple, their favourite people and what they really want. For this reason I include an engagement shoot as standard in my package to all couples within a 50 mile radius of my home (TS13). You can also have as many video meetings, phone calls or messages with me as you feel necessary before the big day.
In addition I have tailored a questionnaire master sheet to help establish your priorities for the big day and help me to learn who your important people are before I even arrive. I believe doing this will put us in the best possible position to capture all your important moments and people as well allow you to just relax into your day and know that I am on top of the job. During your day, I’m not just your photographer, I’m an extra pair of hands.
Here’s a bit about me personally so we’re already better acquainted.
I love all things creative and technical, hence photography was always a natural choice for me. I love to draw and paint in oils but also the rough and ready stuff like carpentry, I even taught myself to plaster last year.
As a couple we love DIY too, we even made our own DIY wedding and are just finishing renovating our house ourselves. Me and my wife are crazy dog and cat ladies who have borrowed just about every dog we know before we finally got our own very recently. We also like to travel and explore, we like to get around all over the UK and Europe. In fact we just spent the winter in France volunteering on two farmsteads with Workaway getting stuck in with animals and the land in exchange for bed and board. It was a fab experience that certainly didn’t feel too much like hard work!
Finally, I love the sea, I don’t think I will ever live too far away from it, dog walks on the enormous wild beaches near our home are a several times a week kind of thing.
So, let’s be friends, who wants a stranger poking their lens into the most important day of their life? I encourage my clients to add my personal profile on facebook and even add me to their wedding planning group chats.
Anyway, enough about me! Have a look at some photos, check out what’s on offer and let’s hear a bit about you!
Thank you!
